The basic gameplay is your start off in a random town or city, in which you spawn with a flashlight, battery, shirt, trousers and shoes, from there you have to search through houses and different buildings to make sure your don't starve or even get hypothermia.
DAYZ STANDALONE UPDATE
The game is still in the Alpha stages so the developers of the game are slowly but surely fixing many different bugs and adding new things anew places like the new prison which was released in the 0.54 update, mostly since the 0.54 update the developers have said themselves that their main priority right now is fixing the bugs and altering the games engine and introducing new features like a new inventory system. The aim of the game is to scavenge for food, weapons, water and different medicines while dodging zombies and the other online players throughout the many towns and cities that are based in Chernaurus with the aim to survive the apocalypse. The game spawns the player in a post Soviet state of Chernaurus where a virus has infected the populations and turned them into flesh eating zombies.
DAYZ STANDALONE PC
Dean Hall who is the creator of the DayZ mod for the game ARMA II joined Bohemia Interactive in 2012 and began to develop the Standalone version of the mod. The game DayZ Standalone was test released on the 16th of December 2013 for the PC gaming platform Steam. In experimental as well there are some new animations for the zombies in 0.55 when they are close to you and also chasing you they make different actions.ĭayZ is a post apocalyptic open world horror game which is still in development and was created by Bohemia Interactive. With the idea of the zombies roaming around the streets it gives a sort of feel like that's what a zombie would do if it was real life its what you would expect. They will be wandering around all the time, the zombies at the moment in the 0.54 update still slightly wander around the towns although it is not that smooth. The zombies will also have a more natural movement around the towns, the zombies wont be standing around in the same spot all of the time and waiting for the players to go hit them. One of the main updates as I said previously is about the zombies, there are supposed to be an increase in the amount of zombies around the cities and towns, the developers have had the idea of that they want the game to have ten times more zombies around the towns than in the stable branch of 0.54. The developers know there is endless amount of work to still be done. The update of 0.55 has only been released in experimental at the moment and there has been other updates for 0.55 on experimental on the 12th and 18th of March. Whats new in 0.55 ?: As usual there are the obvious bug fixes and some new additions to the game, there has been lots of talk specifically for new zombies and the way they look.
The developers themselves have said that they are specifically focusing on animal A.I, cooking and fluids for vehicles. This month on the 11th of March the Dayz developers have introduced the new 0.55 update which has is a new step up in the game which will include new mechanics and features to the game.
